Doubling up on the Za’atar today because I love the stuff! This 10 minute SUPER easy dip is simply a bowl of heaped yoghurt with loads of Za’atar spice, salt, toasted pine nuts, fresh parsley, fresh mint and pomegranate seeds. It literally takes minutes to prepare and is bursting with flavour. I made some Za’atar Manaqish go with it, but you could serve it with toasted pita bread, pita chips or whatever takes your fancy, really.
Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend that I would describe as earthy, nutty, tangy and savoury all in one. It contains a combination of dried oregano, thyme, marjoram, salt, sumac and toasted sesame seeds and sometimes contains dried orange zest, dried dill, or the wild herb za’atar. I made the fluffy Za’atar Manaqish using Suzy’s incredible recipe from The Mediterranean Dish @themediterraneandish, which you can find online. Just Google it.
