SPICY HARISSA CHARRED BBQ WINGS

Ain’t no thang like a good chicken wing people especially on #InternationalChickenWingDay!! 

This spice rub is incredible even my 6 year old gobbled them up caveman style.. although between each wing he drank a gallon of water.. then asked for another. 🤣  If you’re looking for some BBQ inspo for July 1st… #WingDay then give these a go, you wont be disappointed! 

SPICY HARISSA CHARRED BBQ WINGS

Ingredients

  • 24 Chicken Wings
  • 1 tbsp Chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp Garlic granules
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp Soft dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Sea salt flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • .
  • HARISSA PASTE
  • 2 Roasted red peppers from a jar
  • 2 Chipotle peppers from a tin
  • 4 Dried ancho chillis
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Caraway seeds ground
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 4 Garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 Lemon juiced
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven on grill or fire up BBQ to 180°C
  2. Mix dry rub ingredients together and coat wings completely
  3. Blitz harissa paste ingredients in a food processor
  4. Grill wings for 25-30 mins basting with the sauce regularly until nicely charred and cooked through
  5. Enjoy!
